About Winoka Banks

For more than 19 years, Winoka Banks has provided compassionate care to the people of her hometown, New Orleans. "I always wanted to be a nurse," Winoka says. "It wasn't until after Hurricane Katrina that I decided to become a nurse practitioner." Today, she is helping JenCare patients manage the health and enjoy a higher quality of life. "The most rewarding part of my job is having the ability to help change lives for the better," she adds. "I involve my patients in their healthcare. It's a team effort. Guiding them to make the right decision helps lead to greater accountability and better results."

Winoka is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 19 years nursing experience in geriatric, medical surgical, infectious disease, long-term care and retail community care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, MS, and her Master of Science in Nursing from Loyola University in New Orleans, LA.

She is a registered nurse and an advanced-practice registered nurse licensed in the state of Louisiana. Winoka is also board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society and the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society.

In her free time, Winoka likes to stay active by walking, dancing and cooking for her husband and two daughters.

Medicare Advantage is one of the four parts of Medicare. Medicare Advantage is called Part C. It includes Part A and B, and often extra benefits. How often can I see my doctor?

We want you to meet with your doctor often so that we can keep you well. Most patients come in at least once a month. You will have access to your doctor 24/7, especially when you need them most. We welcome walk-in and same-day appointments.

Our specialists work side-by-side with our doctors to care for each patient individually. If you need an off-site specialist, we will make it easy by referring you to one of our trusted partners. We will even help you make the appointment.

Do you perform any testing in the office?

Do I need to visit a pharmacy for my medication?

Get the prescriptions you need fast, right in our centers. You and your doctor will have a chance to discuss how and when to take your medications. Your care team can help you with any concerns you may have about them.

I don’t have a way to get to my appointment. What can I do?

Our centers coordinate door-to-doctor transportation for your appointments or a last-minute visit. Contact your center for more details.
